Dharma - Its True Nature

₹115.00

Dharma is an art of living: how to live peacefully and harmoniously within, and how to generate peace and harmony in the surrounding atmosphere, so that others can also live in peace and harmony. To understand the meaning of the word ‘Dhamma/Dharma’ and how to apply it in life, Vipassana Research Institute arranged a two-day international seminar at Dhamma Giri, Igatpuri in May 1995.

It was attended by leading persons from India and abroad. The 500 attendees came from diverse fields, such as cricketer Mr. Bishen Bedi, educationist Mr. Anil Bordia, and many prominent people in science, business, social work and politics. About forty foreign guests were present, from Europe, USA, Australia, Iran and neighboring Asian countries.

This book contains a collection of papers presented at this seminar such as ‘Dharma - its definition and universal application’, ‘Dharma - its role in current social problems’, ‘Dharma and science’ and ‘Vipassana - a practical solution’.

This book is intended as a companion volume to the other seminars organized by VRI including ‘Vipassana—Its Relevance to the Present World’, ‘Effect of Vipassana on the quality of life’ and ‘Vipassana - addiction and health’.

This book explains the practical aspects of Vipassana meditation and is ideal for Vipassana meditators as well as non-meditators.
