This book forms a part of the series published by VRI on the life of select senior Vipassana meditators. The primary purpose of this series is to motivate people by providing an ideal example of how a householder can live a happy and peaceful life by practicing Vipassana meditation.

Mr. Ram Singh, a senior IAS officer, attended his first 10-day Vipassana course in 1975, when he was a Home Secretary in the Government of Rajasthan. After his first course, he was impressed with result-oriented, scientific and non-sectarian nature of the technique and decided to use it as an instrument of reform in the prisons. He was the driving force behind the introduction of Vipassana courses in Jaipur prison in 1975 and other prisons around India thereafter.

After 1980, he devoted his whole time to Vipassana meditation and was appointed as an assistant teacher in 1982. He is known for his visionary leadership, impeccable character and humble nature. This book narrates his life story, reminiscences from fellow Vipassana meditators and his family members, his view on death and the directions about how to deal with his own death. This book also includes various articles written by Mr. Ram Singh in Vipassana newsletters.

This book is ideal for Vipassana meditators as well as non-meditators.
