It is a documentary showcasing the history of Vipassana and concentrates on the early years of the construction of the Global Vipassana Pagoda until mid-2006. It details how the structure was built and how the novel construction method of masonry was used instead of concrete.

In this discourse, delivered during the aftermath of Gujarat earthquake, Mr. S. N. Goenka explains, importance of kālika dāna (timely aid) and how the practice of Vipassana enables one to live an equanimous life in such great adversity. He also narrates an example of one of the Vipassana meditators who passed away peacefully and equanimously in this earthquake.

This documentary is the story of how hope came to one of the most notorious prisons in the world - Tihar Jail in New Delhi. It is also the story of India's first woman Inspector General of Prisons, Kiran Bedi, and how she dared to fight for genuine rehabilitation of the thousands under her care. Most of all it is the story of the prison inmates themselves, and the profound changes they underwent through the practice of Vipassana meditation.

Hill of Dhamma details the proceedings of a 10 Day Vipassana course at Dhammagiri, Igatpuri. It showcases Dhammagiri, the principal centre of Vipassana Meditation and explains how a basic Vipassana course progresses through its 10 day period.
