Published as a part of the series by VRI on the 'Great Disciples of the Buddha', this book aims to motivate old students to continue their practice seriously as well as to inspire new students to walk the same path as the exemplary practitioners of Vipassana meditation.

Yasodhara, wife of Prince Siddhattha, the future Buddha, was born in the kingdom of Koliya, on the same day as that of Siddhattha. Prince Siddhattha left the palace in search of enlightenment on the very day their son ‘Rahula’ was born. Instead of harboring any animosity towards the prince, she followed his footsteps and started living a life of a renunciate in the palace.

When the Buddha returned to his former kingdom after attaining the full liberation, she proudly introduced the Buddha to Rahula as ‘the lion amongst men’ and urged him to claim his legacy from his father- the practice of Vipassana meditation.

An ideal wife, mother and a Vipassana meditator- this book narrates various phases in the life of Yasodhara, her journey with Prince Siddhattha in their previous births and her contribution towards spread of Vipassana for the benefit of many.

This book is ideal for Vipassana meditators as well as non-meditators.
